OVERVIEW
UV SunBlock™
is designed to help prevent the fading of colors and the
degradation that can result when fiber surfaces are
exposed to the sun’s damaging ultra-violet rays. Ideal
for a wide range of applications: drapes, tapestries,
rugs, carpets, patio furniture,
upholstery, sheers,
clothing, auto interiors, and more. Treated surfaces
retain color vibrancy and maintain a new appearance
longer. UV SunBlock™ is perfect for use on indoor
and outdoor surfaces, and is effective on natural,
synthetic, and blended fibers.
How & Why UV Sunblock™
Works
More than just
blocking the sun’s ultra-violet rays, UV SunBlock™
actually protects fiber surfaces by absorbing the energy
from these damaging rays and then releasing it back out
in a harmless form. UV SunBlock™ stops UV rays at
the surface, preventing them from reaching the protected
surfaces.
Applications
Always test for compatibility by applying UV SunBlock™
to an inconspicuous area of the surface to be treated.
For best results, apply to new or clean surfaces. As
this is a solvent-based product, exercise proper caution
by applying either outdoors, or in a well-ventilated
area. Do not spray near flame, sparks, heated surfaces,
or other potential sources of ignition. Avoid excessive
airborne mist. Do not apply using high-pressure spraying
equipment. Holding the sprayer 6 to 12 inches away from
the surface to be treated, spray a sufficient
quantity of UV SunBlock™ to evenly wet the
surface. Recommended coverage is 1 ounce per 8 to 10
square feet of surface. Treated surfaces are dry to the
touch in 2 to 4 hours and completely cured in 24 hours.
For applications
where both UV and soil/stain protection are desired,
UV SunBlock™ can be used in conjunction with
ForceField® Fabric Protector. While order
of application is not critical, we suggest that UV
SunBlock™ be applied first.
Outdoor surfaces
exposed to the elements should be re-treated once per
year after cleaning.
